This is going to be my personal journal about my preparation and then ride report of my trip by motorcycle to Alaska in June 2011. I hope to share with you how I prepared myself, my gear and my motorcycle. Internet access will be spotty once I hit northern Canada and Alaska. I'll have my SPOT tracker to post my locations a few times a day. I am going to put together a Photo Journal of my ride, who I meet and my adventure in general.
Adventure Rider John Bunce is traveling from his home town in Waterford, Connecticut to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Bunce is a veteran Adventure Rider who completed the TransAmerican Trail in 2009. That's 5000 miles of off road motorcycle riding from Tennessee to the coast of Port Orford, Oregon.
I'd like to create a photo documentary of my upcoming 6 week adventure through Canada and eventually arriving at the Arctic Ocean in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. Then I'll be heading south, catching the Alaska Ferry to Prince Rupert, Canada. After crossing back into the US, I'll be heading east through Montana stopping at Glacier National Park.
Along the way I'll be stopping at the Dust 2 Dawson event in Dawson City, Canada, which is an old gold mining town. Its not a rally but a gathering of adventure riders:) read about it HERE
Traveling to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska through Canada is not unique, but every adventure rider has a story that develops through the people they meet and the places they go.
Along the way, I'll be posting my ride at johnsalaska.blogspot.com and on Twitter @johnsalaska2011. You can also subscribe on the Amazon Kindle. By subscribing to the twitter feed, you will be able to see my progress and location on my SPOT Messenger tracker in real time.
